The Camacho Family Session in Downtown Marietta
Every year I get the honor of photographing the Camacho family, and this session in downtown Marietta, GA was one of my favorites yet. I’ve known Ashley since high school, and through a mutual friend we became close. Watching her little girl grow up in front of my lens year after year has been such a joy—it feels like I’m photographing my own family at this point.
Casual and Urban Vibes
We planned the session for the evening, just before golden hour, to capture the laid-back urban vibe of downtown Marietta. Instead of a field or park, we went for something different: brick sidewalks, city corners, and even a parking deck with gorgeous views. The casual setting matched their style perfectly. They even grabbed dinner at the Marietta Square Market Food Hall after their session.
For outfits, they kept it comfortable and simple—jeans for mom and dad, and their daughter wore the sweetest Rylee & Cru dress. I sent over a styling board for inspiration, and they mixed a few of my suggestions with pieces they already loved. The result? A look that felt authentic to them while still polished for photos.
Sweet and Silly Moments
The Camachos always bring a mix of fun and tenderness to their sessions. Ashley and her daughter shared plenty of silly moments, laughter echoing against the parking deck walls. As high school sweethearts, Ashley and her husband with their daughter who is now 11 is so beautiful to photograph.
The Heart of the Session
The photos I think they’ll treasure most are the ones on the parking deck. Just the three of them together, leaning into one another against the city backdrop. It’s simple, but it’s the essence of their story is a lifetime of love they are building.
