Sometimes the best sessions happen when the weather doesn’t cooperate. On this gray, drizzly afternoon in Marietta, GA, I had the honor of photographing a mama I’ve known for years—Bailey was only ten years old when I first met her. Now, here she is, glowing and laughing with her honey as they anticipate meeting their baby boy. The park may have been overcast, but the images? Pure warmth.

When Fun Meets Sentimental

From the very start, these two were easygoing and full of joy. You could feel their excitement, not just in the way they talked about their son, but in the quiet way they looked at one another. Those glances, those soft smiles—they carry the weight of all the anticipation that comes with becoming parents for the first time.

And of course, in true real-life fashion, there was also laughter. Like when mama decided she was over fighting with her sticky bra mid-session, took it off, and tossed it at me. Before the session, I sent her a style board (something I do for all my clients) to make sure the vibe came together seamlessly. The end result? Despite the drizzle, the overcast skies worked in our favor, adding dimension and shadows that made their love feel even more intimate and cinematic.
