Motherhood Session in Marietta | A Season of Transition

Some moments in life deserve to be marked in a special way. For Katie, this motherhood session in Marietta was about more than photos—it was about capturing the bond between her and her son during a season of change. As he prepared to start kindergarten, she wanted tangible proof of this time in their lives, something they could both look back on for years to come.

A Field Full of Memories

 

We chose one of my favorite fields in Marietta, GA for their session. It’s a spot I return to often because the light, the openness, and the sense of calm it provides always make it the perfect backdrop for family and motherhood photos. With tall grasses and wide skies, it was the ideal place for a mother and son to slow down and simply be together.

Why Motherhood Sessions Matter

Motherhood sessions are often overlooked, but they’re some of the most powerful sessions I get to photograph. They don’t need a milestone birthday or a holiday to justify them—sometimes the reason is simply “because he’s starting school” or “because I don’t ever want to forget this stage.”
