Early Spring Maternity Session With the Perry Couple

This session officially marks the season when everything starts waking back up — including the excitement of new parents waiting to meet their first baby. The Perry couple and I met in college, and now they’re both therapists starting their own little family. Photographing them during this season felt extra special, like watching a story unfold years after you were part of the beginning.

We planned their maternity photos for early spring in Marietta, when the grass was still winter-brown and the trees hadn’t even tried to bloom yet — but honestly, it was beautiful. There’s something timeless about bare branches and dried fields.

A Quiet Marietta Park Just Minutes From Daily Grind Coffee

We shot in one of my favorite tucked-away parks in Marietta, GA, just about three minutes from The Daily Grind Coffee. It’s a spot I keep close because of its peacefulness, soft light, and the way the open spaces frame a couple so naturally. Even without spring greens, the landscape felt warm and inviting.

The evening light drifted in softly, and that slight spring breeze gave everything movement — mama’s hair, her tank, even the shorter Spring grass was so beautiful this evening.. It felt like the perfect preview of the season that was coming.

Styled in Comfort & Confidence

For outfits, mom took full reign. She arrived in what she felt best in — a simple tank that showed her belly and jeans. Nothing forced. Nothing overdone. Just her, comfortable and glowing, completely embracing this moment.

There’s something powerful about a mama showing up in what feels like her. No gowns required. No styling board needed this time. Just authenticity and a sweet baby bump!

Joyful, Warm & Laid Back

One thing about the Perry couple: they radiate joy. Every moment felt laid back and real. They laughed easily, moved seamlessly together, and made documenting their story feel effortless.

The images I know they’ll carry with them forever are the ones where mom throws her head back in a full open-mouth laugh — the pure joy of waiting for their baby girl. The mood of this gallery can be summed up in three words:
